This is really great that these people are being talked about. As well as George Adamson, all inspirational people. I met up with George Rendall recently and he seemed so sad when we watched the clip again.

What about homemade swings? Usually just an old tire attached to a tree with rope? Those were great. And dangerous! At least once a day you�d end up hitting the tree�LOL! Also, when I was kid, my older cousin set up a �tightrope� between the slide and swings on a backyard set and made me and my younger cousin �walk the tightrope.� When we refused to do it (after falling a few times) he twisted our ankles. I still watch this beloved lion Christian regularly – and reread the book etc… I feel so close to Christian the Lion and still a bit sad he may have felt abandoned by his human family – I pray whatever time he spend in Meru and Kora were at least somewhat happy – that he did not suffer too much – he was indeed a very noble lion – llike Aslan in Narnia. Love you Christian.

Actually, George Adamson said Christian crossed the Tana River into the Meru Reserve which was a safer area for wildlife – i.e. from human beings (earth’s most terrifying predator. George and Tony spent many frond months with Christian before he left and we can only hope that Christian led a great life in Meru and left many little Christins both in Kora and Meru. There will never be another George Adamson – sorry Tony – I know you are doing excellent work at Kora and other places – but George A was indeed Baba ya Simba. I watch Christian everyday – I have the book and the dvd – and I would like to purchase GA’s My Pride & Joy and the Lions are Free etc…. Enjoy Christian – his is one of a kind and hopefully in Paradise even now with GA and Bill T and Boy, Elsa etc…. Katania and Super Cub. You can Asopt a Lion for Au$50 p.a. and help in this way.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND reading the book, “A Lion called Christian,” it was written by Christians former owners, Ace and John. I also HIGHLY RECOMMEND the DVD, “Christian, the Lion at World’s End.” Those two will tell you the FULL story of this remarkable animal’s life from the beginning.

UNFORTUNATELY, Christian is no longer alive. This all started in 1969, which would make him 40 years old now. Lions don’t live that long or too long in the wild, less time than in captivity. I HAVE TO hold onto the hope that Christian lived long enough to have a good life with his own pride. I think his offspring are in Africa today. )

If you buy the book and/or the DVD you WILL NOT be sorry. They are BOTH fabulous.

This is obviously a load of baloney. I used to have a lion. I now have no arms. Or children. I go to church every day to ask god to forgive me for allowing satan (the lion) into my house. Never again will I trust a lion. For god says “As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.” You have been warned…

I have always carried a love for the “cat” family in my heart… and have a picture of a lion and his “wife” hanging on my wall beside my bed. I had a good cry when I watched the movie… to see love flowing so freely does that. I came online to find out more information on all of them and found your blog. Thank you for sharing.

Just today my sisters and I were talking about how some animals seem to care when they see you return after a long absence and some don’t. I am happy to add the lion as the wild version of the domestic cat.

Heartfelt thanks for your video of Christian with the perfect music. My heart surges with the music as Christian embraces John and Ace.

John and Ace were interviewed on television in October in Australia. They both had long, unkempt grey hair and looked
wonderful.

This video has enriched my life. I shed tears of joy every time I see it.

I saw the You tube version now several times and read about the whole story. Everytime when I see peaces of the story it brings tears in my eyes. What a great love between an animal and those guys. People can learn about this.
I am from Holland and I am going to try to buy this documentary over here. I hope I can find it.

I have watched this video of Christian and Daniel at least one dozen times and it never fails to bring tears to my eyes.

This great big old pussycat….responding to the brain imprint and smells of his former mates.

I’ve read all I could about this trio and it is endearing.

What more can I say? I tear up whenever I see Christian nuzzling those two guys.

Christian was purchased in 1969 not in 1960. The story is beautiful and deeply touching. This is a lion with such a good heart and attitude.

I have the documentary of Christian the Lion on DVD (from Beckmanndirect.com), and it’s great! Tells the story from London to Africa. Bill Travers and wife Virgina McKenna (from Born Free, and close friends of G. Adamson) filmed the documentary and even housed Christian and the guys at their compound in the country, until they could take Christian to George in Africa.

Also, you might want to look up the book by George Adamson, My Pride and Joy, his autobiography. It has the story of Ace, John and Christian in there, and about the last half of the book is pretty much about Christian, who of course grew to having his own pride.

I just spoke to John. He and Ace will be doing a link tomorrow on the NBC Today show from Sydney. They will be talking more about George Adamson and the Trust fund if you are interested.
